URBANISMO BIOCLIMATICO. GG. 2006 ESTER HIGUERAS Desde los últimos años, son numerosos los acuerdos, directivas y legislaciones, que se han redactado para lograr un desarrollo más sostenible en las ciudades. Sin embargo, es preciso concretarlos desde la práctica del planeamiento de la ordenación del territorio para que las decisiones que se adopten sean las adecuadas a cada situación concreta. El planeamiento sostenible pretende conseguir ordenaciones residenciales integradas en su entorno, que comporten un menor consumo energético y que faciliten una mejor calidad de vida a sus habitantes. En este sentido, el presente texto proporciona a los profesionales relacionados con el diseño urbano y la ordenación del territorio una metodología eficaz que permita integrar los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible en cualquiera de las escalas del planeamiento. Ester Higueras es arquitecta y profesora de Urbanística y Ordenación del Territorio en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) y en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
